Today gives us the full moon of November. For those who don’t know the full moon marks the time each month, when it is supposed, that the impact of the divine energies of Light, Love and Power are at their peak. It is not the moon that gives us these full energies but the full reflection of the sun.
I have been researching the elements of the Full Moon and it’s power. I found that the full moon, at this time of the year, is a good time for releasing or purging the things in our lives that no longer serve us. It’s a good time for letting go of all past hurts and negative judgments we have allowed others to put on us, and moving forward and loving ourselves without looking for others to verify who we are, and what wonderful beings we truly are. This certainly feels very synchronistic in my life.
They say “Freedom is a conquered state of mind”. The Scorpio full moon is the sign that can be associated with mental, emotional and physical vices that hold us prisoners within our lives. We can use the Full Moon to moon bathe or meditate on our fight for spiritual freedom.
Rudolph Steiner expressed freedom as a "view of the world based on spiritual activity, on action, thinking and feeling that arises from the individual human spirit". He said, "I call a thing free which exists and acts from the pure necessity of its nature, and I call that unfree, of which the being and action are precisely and fixedly determined by something else". [The Philosophy of Freedom – Rudolph Steiner]
Based on this definition, Christine Morgan from The Lucis Trust at the Festival of Scorpio last year in London says: “few are truly free as many are trapped by their own ideas of freedom in relation to the society in which they live. True freedom is pure creativity; it is acting in accordance with spiritual impulses that inspire the personality directly from the soul and then expressing them in the world. If true freedom existed, there would be no need for man-made laws. This would not be anarchy as all would be living and acting in a state of spiritual order – each a law unto himself but also resonating harmoniously with all other souls expressing the qualities of unity, peace and love, each in their own creative way.” She goes on to say “during these full moon periods as we approach higher centres of Life and Light, in an appeal for revelation on behalf of humanity. The full moon work is steadily building the new world religion which will reveal this to humanity and teach it how to bring about its own freedom through the conscious invocation.
If we can hold and work on this ideal, the new Golden Age will be one we can co-create together in a loving and peaceful way.
I would love to hear your experiences with the Full Moon in Scorpio tonight.
