Is a vegetarian diet better for spiritual development?

"To purify the body is very much a wonderful thing. Less can often be more; and with work required within your digestive system to carry out the changing of food into energy, lighter work is often more beneficial. Also there is within you the thought and the consequence of having to kill other species for your survival, which often holds you back along your spiritual pathway. So I would say this, a lighter diet, one taken with thought, humility and with reason is better for both your conscience and your well-being. I wish you luck and progress with this thought."

Hi Pam, well actually I found exactly the same thing happened to me, and as I progressed along a spiritual path I found I preferred to eat less and less meat, in fact I don't eat red meat at all now, I have chicken occasionally, but do eat fish.

There appears to be a strong link between spirituality and eating less meat, I think that perhaps either of these two leads to the other. I don't know if anyone else has found this?

In January 2015, I realised I was no longer choosing to eat meat. However, by mid-February, I'd re-introduced it into my diet but then during October 2015, again rejected it and it's now a year since my diet has been modified. I can't now imagine eating a meat-based meal which I sense is assisting my further development which in turn is influencing what I choose to eat and drink. Has anyone else experienced this?
