Ego and the Realms a selection of thoughts linked with spirit and how it can affect us in everyday life.
Years back I was given the title Ego and the Realms I put it down on my laptop and there it stayed. Over years I came back to the title and thought I written a post about it I have now realised that Ego has more than one face more than one story and more than one lesson to learn.
So putting my fingers on the keys let’s see what the lesson is today.
The Mountain, the Rock, the Stone, and the Pebble.
The mountain looked high up into the sky and thought I am mighty I look down on you below and said.
“Look at me! I am so tall I have reached the heavens”. In the distance the wind smiled the rain shook and the sun, warm and strong hid behind the clouds viewing it all and waited.
The pebble all this time was down on the ground it had travelled over the years and sometimes life had been kind, sometimes life had be hard, and sometime life, taught it lessons.
Ego the pebble had met and seen many times he had learned the hard way and, But therefore but the grace of Grace of God do go I.
Mountain looked down below from the distance everything look small, tiny, minuet he glared down at pebble. Pebble just sat and waited he knew life changes every second every minute take nothing for granted as in a whisker all we know can change. Floods earth quakes monsoons, tidal waves, fire drought famine and many more life threaten changes.
Mountain sat tall and firm and full of steam he was top dog he was tall and royal and important. Once he been friends with rock but rock was too sharp and ragged. He had also for a time counted stone in his friends but he then found stone boring as it became too smooth and only was fun when cracks appeared.
Stone looked at rock and said.
“I know we are of the same family however, I am smooth and people follow me because I am easy and people like easy. So I am better than you, I rather be a stone than a rock”. Rock thought for a moment stone had no idea what he was talking about he once been a stone and it was boring yes people walked on you every day dropped their rubbish let their dog leave a mess and some drove heavy weights over you and left it there for weeks some left buildings and it caused cracks and dents.
Ego was having fun today he was up to mischief to be honest he was always up to mischief it depended on who fed him the most.
Rock was heading for high things he was building in strength and today Ego was thinking he help him rattle mountain. For in every rock his goal and ambition is to be a mountain. How he becomes one depends on many elements. Who he helps and who helps him. However if he us
es help and does not give back he then in turn feeds Ego.
Mountain had over the years used pebbles and sand and rock and water. He used the wind and sun and the rain. He kept the heat in his belly and used it to push high into the sky at the top it reached the clouds it was cold and white and silent well almost apart from the planes that flew over it the stars so bright it hurt its eyes at night the long stare of the moon full face being the worst and the hot sun that started to warm the ice causing the snow to melt and the water run and then the height started to slip. Being top dog was hard work.
Ego went straight to rock he smiled and said.
“Mighty rock the mountain is only held up by your strong sharp corners; you keep the heat in and stop it melting the snow and water. If you were to crack you rise up and break mountains head the snow would slip the water would fall and like Humpty Dumpty it couldn’t be put back together again”. He then slithered over to stone all smooth and shiny and said.
“Stone if you crack and break apart of you will die but the rest will become rock and you also one day will be mountain”.
Pebble was watching and listening at all this time was sitting with sand and said.
“I’ve been mountain, rock, stone, and pebble one day my dear friend I will be sand and sand will probably be dust. We are all a part of life circle whoever we meet and whatever we do we have a choice to feed ego or not. The elements of earth fire water and air in all of us”.
The pebble sat on the sand and said.
“Thank you”, to the waves, the air and wind,
“I have learnt many things. A life of a pebble is no bad thing”. People pick you up and take you home they make things from you eventually you break and become sand and then the cool seas and waters flow over you and you’re once again part of the elements.
Ego only causes pain it tries to puff itself up and fills your chest with pride and pride comes before a fall. Ego has many followers the desire to be important has no effect once you realise we all part of a bigger picture, Ego may chase his chicken and egg but in the end he only has the power you give him and once you give it away he moves on to his next victim leaving you to deal with pride and envy alone. What would you rather be? A pebble, a stone, a rock, or a mountain. In the end all is one and one is all remember those who you crack on the way up crack you on the way down. ”.
In the distance the wind smiled the rain shook and the sun, warm and strong hid behind the clouds viewing it all and waited.
