Help Yourself to a Better Life
By James McQuitty

One of my recent books uses a title that was actually given to me many years earlier via spirit communication. At this time I was planning to write a book introducing many different complementary therapies (including a couple I practiced). However, at the time I was reliant upon the American publishers of my original religion book to sell enough copies so that they would go ahead with more titles. Alas, they dilly-dallied over the release of ‘religion’ (it came out two years later than planned) and then they seemed no better at marketing than I am, so they didn’t go ahead with further titles. (I am grateful they did try, and twice with a change of cover).
I never forgot the ‘Help Yourself’ title and have now used it for a collation of writings that at one time were different booklets. Below is the ‘Introduction’ to the contents.
‘It has been more than 30 years since I began to earnestly research the world of psychics, mediums, spiritual philosophy, complementary therapies and much, much more that, in many respects, is interrelated. During this time I have discovered many truths and some of these I have previously shared with readers.
‘Within the pages of this book I have collated a selection of enlightening material, along with some uplifting humour, enabling you (the reader) to help yourself to a better life.
‘The range of subjects covered include: positive thinking, meditation, and the elimination of stress, fear and guilt, through self-hypnosis, dream analysis and a true adventure story. It goes on to give a brief explanation of the origins of religion - not in some stuffy academic jargon but in easy to read terms, with some ‘fun’ questions and answers included to further help you set your mind free.
‘It also includes ways in which colours and crystals can be used for self-help along with spiritual healing - which can also be used to help others.
‘All this and more is included.
‘At the end of the book I have also included a few articles which I hope will further inspire and encourage you on your own continued adventure.’
As I say on my website, my motivation is to help others, but it is even better if we can help ourselves.
“Help Yourself to a Better Life” is available via the Amazon website or can be ordered through many bookshops for just £6.99 (a Kindle version is also available).
