I am very intrigued by little gold nuggets of research and data, relating to parapsychological studies.
It is a little disappointing that I have to really dig for information on psychic, intuitive and spiritual abilities. The data is extremely rare on mainstream media and global news networks – unless you really delve into the deep dark depths of the archive bucket entitled; “published this “alternative thinking” sweetener, just to shut them up”.
Anyway, my current focus is parapsychology and the research behind our intuitive, psychic sixth sense. I am leaning more towards precognitive abilities and consciousness, with the idea that our personal and/or collective emotions are linked and can travel over short and long distance.
There is definitely more to our consciousness than merely describing it as our general brain function or the state of being awake. It is everything and without consciousness we would not exist; and without existing we would not be conscious. A standard belief held by quantum physicists is: If something has a degree of possibility, no matter how small, then it is probable, measurable and observable. Therefore, the simple act of believing in a concept, idea or feeling makes the concept, idea or feeling exist.
Reflect if you will: Have you ever walked into an occupied building or room and instantly felt a vibe? Have you ever met someone you have taken an instant like or dislike to? Have you ever been thinking about someone, you have not seen or spoken to for a while, and they pop up out of nowhere? Have you ever felt sad or cried, for no apparent reason, only to find a friend has been feeling very low? Have you ever had a “bad day” and everyone seems to be making it worse? I can bet my bottom dollar that you have replied yes to at least one, if not all, of those scenarios.
However, emotions could in fact travel much, much further and some parapsychologists believe they can reach globally pandemic scales.
Let me introduce you to The Global Consciousness Project. A worldwide experiment using random number generators to gauge, or even predict, spikes in worldwide human emotion. The theory is that when large volumes of humans beings are excited, sad, shocked, scared etc. they affect globally positioned random number generators. The GCP curators believe our mass consciousness occurs prior to a major event and are elevated further, by emotional periods during the event. Therefore, in theory, this data could in fact predict an occurrence that creates a global emotional reaction. Of course there are scientists who have attacked the data, stating it is unreliable. However, does it not depend on the emotional scale of the event? Maybe some events trigger a higher emotional vibration than other events?
In some ways, I understand their point. Take the Bible Code or The Nostradamus Code for example. The majority of which has been fed into sophisticated computer programmes, written specifically to find patterns and sequences hidden within the text. In the movie – Wanted - the character, Sloan, played by Morgan Freeman, is a leader of an assassination fraternity, who cuts pieces of cloth, woven from the Loam of Fate. Hidden within the irregular stitches of cloth is a binary code, which supplies the fraternity with the names of the individuals they must assassinate. Although it is a fictitious story, it highlights that irregularities in patterns, behaviours, occurrences, random sequences etc. could in fact be interpreted as non-random, although this is highly dependent on personal or collective beliefs.
A great way to describe, and present, solid proof of mass consciousness is by looking at the animal kingdom. Think about the thousands upon thousands of birds, fish and animals miles apart, that come together at an exact moment to migrate. They all know they need to move south for the winter or north for the summer. They know exactly where they are going and what they are going for. They navigate vast distances, just by sense alone. They know they all need to get back to the right beach, stream, nesting site, grazing ground, watering hole etc. We cannot dispute this mass consciousness phenomenon and therefore, if animals can mentally link there is no reason why we cannot link our minds, as we are essentially made up of the same substances as our animal friends. I touched, very briefly, on this subject before in Is Our Reality Really Real when I relayed my husband’s experience. He told me he has frequent occurrences where he has thought about a person and, for a split second, he felt he was that person.
I too had an experience, this week, that I would like to share with you: I won a Crystalline Energy Alignment session with Reiki Master, Chiara Irvine (another “hit” to add to my LOA list) who created this unique distant healing technique. During the healing, Chiara links with a recipient energetically, emotionally and mentally through her visualizations, using earth and crystal energies. I made a specific point of not reading about the process, prior to the session, as I did not want to be influenced by any suggestive or preconceived ideas. However, it turned out the images I saw during the healing were the same as what Chiara visualizes…..I found myself walking around caves, through mountains and corridors carved through the earth. After the session, she disclosed that she visualizes caves, deep within the earth. Was it a complete coincidence? I don’t think so.
A recent documentary on the sixth sense, showed an experiment to see how two people, in different settings could feel each others emotions. The man in room one had a light directed at him, which was set to intermittently flash. The woman in room two was seated in a room with blacked out windows and no lighting, so she was completely in the dark. Every time the light flashed in the poor chap’s eyes he jumped or winced and he was clearly uncomfortable. The woman was very relaxed in the dark and did not move. When their ordeal was over the woman was asked if she experienced anything strange. She told the parapsychologist that she saw a bright light briefly flash in her mind. She even estimated the timing of each flash of light, with a degree of accuracy. Again, could it really be a coincidence?
The institute of Noetic Science conducted a study were volunteers where also “blind tested”. On a computer screen was a set of curtains. One curtain would randomly conceal a picture and the other would be blank and the user was required to predict which curtain concealed the picture. The prediction rate was relatively low when a generic picture, such as a flower, was behind the curtain. However, when a picture of a sexual nature was shown the prediction rate increased. The parapsychologist surmised that the erotic images increased the prediction rate. However, I believe he was missing the point; there is no real emotion behind a flower, a building, a washing machine – unless it means something specific to the user.
Given the array of experiences and paranormal occurrences, there can be no doubt that humans and the animal kingdom have senses that are far beyond the full comprehension of science. Nevertheless, I feel we are getting there - slowly but surely. Science has made a massive leap in the last decade, collected reams of data, and I believe we are not far off proving we are all connected, we are all consciously linked, we are all telepathic and we all have a sixth sense.
Anything that can exist, no matter how complex or fantastical, may exist because existence is the creator of the universe. A belief I find inspiring, empowering and opens soo many theoretical doors – both spiritually and scientifically.
